Longhill Farm is very conveniently located in mid Somerset and with many attractions and places of interest on our doorstep to suit everyone, you will not be short of things to do! The Royal Bath & West Showground is just two miles away and hosts many major events throughout the year, from music festivals to antique fairs and truck fests.
Englands smallest city of Wells, with its impressive Cathedral is well worth a visit and lunch in the cathedral is particularly enjoyable! The historic town of Glastonbury (10 miles) is world renowned for its annual music festival and also boasts an interesting and eclectic mix of shops. The panoramic views of rolling countryside afforded by a walk up the hill to Glastonbury Tor are as rewarding as The Tor itself! For those who love to shop, the town of Street (10 miles) is home to Clarks Village Retail Outlet, where numerous designer label retail outlets offer generous discounts and makes this a perfect destination for a spot of 'retail therapy'.
Fleet Air Arm Museum (12 miles), Haynes Motor Museum (6 miles), The East Somerset Steam Railway (Cranmore, 4 miles), Cheddar Caves (21 miles) and Wookey Hole (11 miles) all make great family days out. Longleat Safari Park and The National Trust stately homes and gardens of Montacute House, Stourhead and Lytes Cary can be reached in less than 30mins by car. The city of Bath with its Roman Spa, museums and designer shopping is only forty a minute drive away and with a Park & Ride sited conveniently en-route, accommodation at Longhill offers a very cost effective alternative to staying in or around Bath itself. The city of Bristol is also only about an hours drive away and boasts theatres, shopping centres, The SS Great Britain, @Bristol hands-on science museum, art galleries and many more attractions.
For those who play golf, we have two excellent courses nearby. The Mendip Golf Club at Shepton Mallet (8 miles) provides excellent award-winning facilities and its elevated position affords panoramic views across seven counties and Wheathill Golf Club near Castle Cary (3 miles). We are situated just seven miles from Wincanton Racecourse where race meetings take place throughout the year.

The Mill On The Brue Activity Centre in Bruton (3 miles) provides a multitude of outdoor adventure and activities for all age groups, from childrens fun-days and longer residential courses during school holidays to hen and stag activity days and corporate event days. There is an excellent h orse riding school at Naydon Equestrian Centre at Lydford Cross (4 miles) offering . The Somerset Levels provide excellent opportunities for bird watching, cycling and to gain insite into several traditional cottage industries including specialist food smoking and basket weaving. Wincanton Sports Centre (11 miles) is our nearest indoor swimming pool and also has many fun activities for children during school holidays as well as varied adult fitness classes.
Theatre lovers have a choice of performances at The Octagon Theatre in Yeovil (16 miles), Strode Theatre in Street (10 miles), Bristol or Bath.
Eating Out
We are very lucky to have several excellent Inns very nearby, serving delicious, locally sourced food.
The Manor House Inn, Ditcheat and The Natterjack Inn, Evercreech are highly reccommended and both serve lunchtime and evening meals. Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. Barbers Farm Shop in the vilage a must for those wishing to buy scrumptious Somerset cheeses made right here in Ditcheat. Brown and Forrest, Hambridge uses traditional smoking techniques to produce delicious smoked fish, meat and cheeses that can be sampled in their restaurant or purchased.
