Access Statement
The Orchard Therapy Suite is on the ground floor and is accessed from a large car park sited on level ground and surfaced with small stones. Wheelchair users and clients with limited mobility or prams can also access The Therapy Suite via a paved path around the courtyard that accomodates a gentle, shallow rise to the door threshold where a small threshold ramp is present. The small inner lobby and waiting area provide adequate space for a wheelchair as does the bathroom which offfers a Heritage comfort height suite with easy pull lever flush and baby basin with lever taps. All doors are wide enough to admit most wheelchairs.
The therapy suite itself is spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The therapy couch is not height adjustable (81cm/32in) and therefore may not be suitable for clients unable to weight bear to transfer to the couch. All treatments, with the exception of manicure, require the client to either sit or lie on the couch. There is however, always a double step (max height 30.5cm/12in) present to assist clients to climb onto the couch themselves. The head end of the couch has an adjustable back rest to allow support at various angles whilst sitting. The therapist is happy to provide general assitance to help clients onto the couch, but for health and safety reasons cannot lift clients onto or off the couch. Please discuss any specific requirements with the therapist before booking treatments.
