Accessible Accommodation

Access Statement for Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
Of our three bed & breakfast rooms, The orchard Room is located on the ground floor near to the main entrance and is easily accessed via level ground from the carpark, so is more suitable for guests with limited mobility and some wheelchair dependent guests .  (Wheelchairs, including motorised wheelchairs can be easily and conveniently stored just outside the room in the large entrance hallway).

The Orchard room can be made up with either twin or superking-size double bed and we are happy to rearrange furniture to suite individual needs.  The room has a disabled access en-suite wetroom with grab rails, safety rails and optional folding seat for the shower.  Guests who are totally unable to weight bear and/or unable to transfer unaided may experience difficulty due to the smaller width of the wetroom.  Please contact us if you would like any measurements or further information.

The low level sill of the large Georgian bedroom window allows wheelchair users to enjoy the views to the front gardens and countryside beyond.  The window opens top and bottom with an easy sash mechanism and can easily be operated from a wheelchair.  The decor provides enough contrast between doors, window frames and light switches etc to be suitable for those with visual impairment.  The bedside lamp is touch on/off with no switches and a pull cord over the head of the bed operates the central ceilng light.

The breakfast room is also situated on the ground floor and is easily accessed via level flooring just a short distance from the The Orchard Room.  We are also happy to serve beakfast in The Orchard Room if required.  Although we do not normally serve evening meals, we are happy to heat prepared meals and serve them in The Orchard Room for guests with limited mobility .   We are always happy to help with more detailed information about any aspect of our accommodation - please contact us at any time.
